Florence is a city where we breathe art in every corner (and where food is great).
I was lucky to have great weather and was gifted with some amazing clouds for sunset.
And while the filming of the new Tom Hanks movie based on Dan Brown‘s Inferno was in progress, I had the chance to explore the city, feel the real Italian atmosphere and take lots of pictures.
My favourite ones are those at sunset. In order to shoot sunsets we need either a sturdy tripod or a higher ISO (but this increases the picture noise and we don’t want that, do we?).
I also disabled the auto focus, zoomed in on the buildings in front and performed the manual focus. With a small aperture (higher f number), I was able to have every part of the photo in focus.
In this second picture, you can see on the right one of the major architectural buildings of Florence, Brunelleschi’s Dome: it is the symbol of Florence and the biggest dome ever built by man! It is very impressive both from afar or from the inside (those stairs seemed infinite).
Palazzo Vecchio, the city hall, is the second monument to stand out from all the city layout in this picture.
And last but not the least, Ponte Vecchio is a charming bridge that still has shops built along it as was common in the past. However, while in old times it was filled with butchers, now it’s the land of jewelers, souvenir shops and art dealers.
Anyway, let’s be serious: the best part of the city is not the art nor the landscape… it’s the food! If you ever go there, I recommend that you try the famous Fiorentina steak and of course the countless gelatos you can find anywhere in the city. You’re welcome! 😉
Bonitas fotos caro Nuno.
